Summer school
- Project name
- In vitro biocompatibility testing of samples with potential use in implantology
- Leader
- Ing. Jakub Bumba, Ph.D.
- Description of the activities of the project
-
- The cell and tissue cultures group, part of the Laboratory of Machine Vision Processing in Aquaculture and Water Protection, provides a unique environment for research in the field of material biocompatibility and cytotoxicity. The group specializes in in vitro testing using methods such as time-lapse microcinematography (live cell imaging) and image data analysis through trained convolutional neural network (CNN) models.
- The project focuses on evaluating the biocompatibility of materials intended for implantology through in vitro testing. As part of the project, student will learn fundamental techniques for working with cell lines, methods for imaging live cells, and data analysis from recorded images using software tools for automatic cell detection.
- The goal of the project is to independently assess the biocompatibility of materials related to implantology by conducting in vitro tests, analyzing the results, and interpreting the results, which will be presented in the form of a presentation at the final conference.
